Lake Michigan Forum & Watershed Academy Meeting - October 28, 2015

Published: 2015-10-07

Collaboration around the Basin: Lake Michigan Outreach & Education
Wednesday, October 28th 5-6:30 pm

Grand Traverse Resort, Acme, Michigan
Open to Public

Communities throughout the Lake Michigan basin fall in four states, 40 coastal counties, and thousands of cities, municipalities, and villages. Although a coordinated management approach for Lake Michigan is often encouraged, facilitating a common dialogue across communities can be challenging. Several organizations – the Lake Michigan Forum, the Watershed Academy, and Lake Michigan Stakeholders – have been doing just that. These groups connect natural resource professionals, community planners, elected officials, and the broader public on critical Lake Michigan issues. This meeting will be an opportunity to learn about the activities of these groups and future plans for public engagement and outreach in the Lake Michigan basin. Join this conversation as a participant and find out how you can plug in from your community.

Agenda

5:00-5:10 pm Welcome & Introductions – Vicky Harris, Wisconsin Marine Association and Lake Michigan LAMP Forum Co-Chair

5:10-5:25 EPA Plans for Outreach and Public Participation in the Lake Michigan LAMP – Beth Hinchey-Malloy, GLNPO Lake Michigan Coordinator

5:25-5:35 Lake Michigan Forum and the Lake Michigan Watershed Academy – Todd Parker, Delta Institute
