JOB TITLE: Tutor

SUPERVISOR: Alison Woodbeck, Program Director

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Tutors work part-time with students, either one-on-one or in small group settings, providing reading, spelling, writing, and math instruction to students of all ages. Tutoring takes place in person at the Turning Pages office location, in schools, libraries, or remotely.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and implement individualized lessons
• Write progress reports
• Attend monthly in-services
• Communicate with parents regularly

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Complete 46 hours of training in the Orton-Gillingham approach (training provided by Turning Pages)
• Complete 2 hours of remote lesson planning and remote presentation (training provided by Turning Pages)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Experience:

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
• Tutoring: 1 year (Preferred)
