It’s totally normal for skills to get a little “rusty” over the break. But for our students, that gap can feel like a mountain. We’re here to bridge that gap with fun, focus, and a whole lot of encouragement. We don’t just help them catch up; we help them get ahead so they can walk into school this fall feeling like the best they can be.
5-Week Specialized Learning and Summer Fun
Lake Michigan Academy invites your student to join an energetic, five-week journey designed to continue academic wins! Our program is led by experienced teachers using research-based techniques to provide skill-based instruction for students with learning differences.
We know that for students with ADHD or learning differences, a traditional classroom can sometimes feel like a puzzle with missing pieces. Our mission is to provide those pieces through:
- Customized Roadmaps: Individualized instruction in Reading, Writing, and Math tailored to how your child’s brain works.
- The “Pro” Factor: Led by expert teachers who specialize in research-based, neuro-diverse learning techniques.
- Active Learning: We swap dry lectures for hands-on activities that keep minds engaged and moving.

Looking for Something Different?
Reading & Math Tutoring with Turning Pages Tutoring
In addition to our five-week program, Turning Pages Tutoring also offers one-on-one in-person and remote tutoring this summer. These tutorials are open to students of all ages, including grades 9-12. We can help your child make gains in reading and basic math skills through individualized lessons tailored to your child’s needs. Lessons are hands-on, multi-sensory, and created for your child. Take advantage of our flexible summer sessions and give your child the boost they need to be successful in the coming school year.
Our Orton-Gillingham approach, based on The Science of Reading, is a proven method for improving reading skills. Our experienced tutors will work closely with your child to:
- Build foundational skills: Phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, and basic math skills
- Improve comprehension: Reading strategies and critical thinking
- Boost confidence: Positive reinforcement and personalized instruction
- Flexible one-on-one, in-person, and remote tutoring provided
